Choosing a dog bed in Arklow
Arklow was one of the first towns outside Wexford that Joan drove to with a bed in the back of the car. A retired racing greyhound, all elbows and no padding, whose owner had gone through three foam beds in a year.
That's the Arklow pattern, honestly — sighthounds. Bony hips, thin coats, and a habit of stretching out full length rather than curling up. The raised canvas gives under the hip instead of flattening like foam does, and being lifted off a cold tiled floor matters more to a greyhound than to almost any other dog.
The other half of Arklow is the water. Between Ferrybank strand and the river, dogs come home wet and sandy. There's no cover to peel off and wash on a KosieCare bed — a wipe with soapy water and it's dry again by teatime.
Semrush (Ireland) shows about 320 searches a month for "pet shop Arklow" — but almost nothing for a bed made in the county itself. That gap is exactly what this page is for.

Arklow — frequently asked
Do you deliver dog beds to Arklow?
Yes. Joan hand-delivers to Arklow, Ferrybank, Avoca, Woodenbridge and Aughrim from the workshop in Ferns, about thirty minutes south. Most beds arrive within the same week they're finished.
Is there a handmade alternative to an Arklow pet shop for dog beds?
There is. KosieCare beds are made one at a time in Co. Wexford rather than imported — galvanised steel frame, hypo-allergenic PVC canvas, seven sizes from €55 to €175, and Joan delivers to Arklow herself.
Are these beds good for greyhounds and lurchers?
They're one of the most popular choices for sighthounds locally. The canvas flexes under bony hips and elbows instead of bottoming out like foam, and the bed sits up off cold floors.
